The Goonies; an endlessly quotable film, that twenty-somethings across the world look back on with nostalgic fondness bordering on the obsessive. Released in 1985, the Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus comedy-adventure took a $61million gross at the Box Office and in the years since, has firmly cemented itself in the pantheons of popular culture.
Directed and co-produced by Richard Donner, the movie sees a group of kids from ‘The Goon Docks’, hence the title, go on an adventure in search of the buried treasure of legendary pirate One Eyed Willy – I could make a joke, but I won’t. The film made stars out of Josh Brolin, Sean Astin and to a lesser extent Corey Feldman.
Now some twenty-three years on from the film’s release, we discover what the child stars from The Goonies did in the years following for what most of them was their big break.
