So we did it. Bet many of you guys thought I was talking out of my ass and that I would never get round to it.
But late Saturday night, the three amigo’s… (ironically straight after we did watch a bit of THE THREE AMIGO’S)… myself, Simon and Dan recorded an audio commentary track for THE DARK KNIGHT.
Discussions included…
“Did Batman break his one rule by the film’s conclusion?”
“Should Harvey Dent’s arc in the movie end with the hospital scene?”
“Was Heath Ledger’s performance deserving of an Oscar?”
Warner Bros, the commentary is for sale if you wish to purchase it. Or hey, you can have it for free for a future “Holiday edition” or a “Deluxe Box Set” release. International fans, sadly the commentary is only in one language (Geordie) but hopefully you can understand just what the hell it is we are saying.
We thought it went about as well as it could for the first time. We might have rushed through what we were saying but we were quite nervous (you try and talk in front of a microphone for two and a half hours) but I’m sure we will get better over time.
Remember this was only our first one. After our fifth or sixth, then you can judge us.
Next up we mutually agreed we would do STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT. Which might be quite interesting with the new TREK movie on the horizon.

@ Bryan: It sounds like a podcast to me, and i don’t think podcast are useless. I always like hearing other people’s opinion about movies.
I enjoyed listening to it! there was a bit of static when nobody was talking though..well, on my phone that is. other than that: Good job :)

Love this feature really well done. I hope this continues as a regular feature. I have to say I have been reading this website pretty much since its inception and finally hearing the guys I read all the time like Simon and especially Matt it is incredibly weird to start putting a voice to the writing. I thought the sound quality was really good. I think that it might be better with just two people because its hard to organize just the voices into who is talking and the more you have the harder it is to tell 3 same age males with normal voices apart. Great hearing the opinions I trust and think highly of and hopefully this keeps up. Very well done for a first attempt and I think that in a few more tries this will be perfect. Looking forward to the next.
Excellent work, Matt! The sound quality was good, and you guys obviously have a love for the film. You definitely sound nervous in the beginning, which I remember when I first started in radio LOL. It takes a few runs before you get used to talking to nobody on the other end, but you’ll get there, trust me.
