I find it hilarious that we only ever here about the X-FILES sequel from David Duchovny. No-one else ever seems to mention it. From the outside looking in, he seems to be the only one who is desperate to get this made.
And desperate he probably should be. Can you remember the last time you went to see a David Duchovny movie, because I can’t.
Speaking to MovieWeb, the actor revealed that the script has been approved and they are hoping to film this thing in December.
It’s at… the script is written and as far as I know we’re all trying to shoot in December at some point. We would all love it if we could keep it a secret and just give everybody a fresh experience of not knowing what the movie’s about. I know if I was a fan of the show I would kind of be excited to be surprised.
I would fully expect Gillian Anderson to be back for the movie too, because like Duchovny her film career isn’t going anywhere either. I once had a massive long talkback about the career of Gillian Anderson with a visitor on this site when I mentioned her career was probably now at the lowest point since the X-FILES began.
His response was her role in THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND (which let’s be honest, was blink and you miss it), her leading role in the action movie STRAIGHTHEADS (did that movie actually get a release?) and her role in BLEAK HOUSE (which isn’t a movie, ya know). But whatever!
Anderson will be back for this, mark my words. But will audiences still care about THE X-FILES, a show that is so reminiscent of the 90’s?

Gillian has a nice part in one of next years most anticipated films:
“how to loose fans and alienate people”
She’s always have a bigger career than Duchovny b/c she’s a better actress.
I think there’s still room for an X-files movie,I for one still really miss the show.(But then again I dont really watch much TV anymore, it’s all shite.)
It would have to be done right though.I dont think it will happen they would have done one by now and it just keeps stalling. As Matt says only Duchovny seem to mention anything about it, not a good sign.
“here from David…”?.. try “hear” you envious dyslexic fool.
