Posters from Cannes

Cannes is well under-way, I believe we have a contributor down there in sunny France reviewing movies for us but it all came together at the last minute so we will have to wait and see how that develops.

For now though it’s poster time. First off we shall showcase some posters that are as far as I can tell first looks…

I Love You Phillip Morris - the gay prison break comedy starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor that marks the directorial debut of the writers of Bad Santa due out in Feb 2009…

A Monster in Paris – God I’m so predictable aren’t I? Eiffel tower & monster & early 20th century setting & animated = something that looks like my cup of tea. Never heard of it before today but I frikkin’ love this teaser poster. It’s the next film from the co-director of Shark Tale and comes out next summer…

Miracle at St. Anna – The next Spike Lee movie which is the director’s answer to the lack of WW-II movies about black American soldiers. It’s set around the true events of four soldiers who get trapped in a Tuscan village and has virtually no-stars. Look for this in October…

Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard – No-one saw the original did they, so who’s excited over this?

The rest of the posters are from movies we have already seen much of the imagery from but I kinda liked this one. You can find the rest of the posters at JOBLO!

I hope “I love you Phillip Morris” marks a return for Ewan McGregor, he is one of the best actors around, but he hasn’t really done anything decent in a few years (Not counting motorbike travelling).
Although Big Fish was great, Deception, The Island and now Cassandra’s Dream all stank of putrid movie bile.

Plus Harrison really is too old for Indy, he is 5 years younger than my dad, and my dad is currently laid up in bed with a bad back, crippling Arthritis and more drugs pumped in him than Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty put together. But the poster looks cool though!!!!
