Avatar Scoops 9 Oscar Nominations

James Cameron’s Avatar has picked up 9 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Moon, and it’s leading man Sam Rockwell, has been completely over-looked. Likewise Michael Stuhlberg missed out on a Best Actor nod for his outstanding performance in the Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man.

It’s hard to believe Avatar can really get that many nominations. Sure, the technical awards belong to the film … but Best Picture? Best Director?

The one nomination it didn’t get that I might be willing to accept if it had would be Zoe Saldana for her mesmerizing, soulful performance as Neytiri. Of course, I would have preferred that Melanie Laurent be nominated over Saldan, and that didn’t happen either.

I agree with ya Ray.
Avatar was total crap. How do people fall for this shit.
It was technically amazing. Other than that, it was really really bad.
