Funny. Oliver Stone you are a genius. “What a Wonderful World” played over a George Bush montage – now that is just Golden my friend.
I couldn’t stop chuckling through the last half of the trailer so I missed what happened, the first half though was a little clunky. And if it were any other director than Stone, I would attack the movie for being too much of a comedy in the brief scenes between Bush Sr. and Bush Jr.
After World Trade Center, this is exactly the kind of movie Stone needed right now. A movie which thrusts his anger in a different direction. The trailer wasn’t suppose to play until tonight on Access Hollywood, but here it is a good number of hours early for your viewing pleasure…
And isn’t Richard Dreyfuss just inspired as Dick Cheney?
Josh Brolin, if you get an Academy Award for playing Bush – your career will never be the same!
Look for W. in October. Something tells me you won’t be able to avoid this one, it’s gonna be huge!

Something’s not quite right about Cromwell’s take on H.W. Bush. Hell, even in that one scene, his voice seems to change tone inconsistently. I realize he’s not trying to imitate Dana Carvey’s imitation, but hell … this seems distractingly off.
The sad thing about this movie is that Bush (no, I’m not calling him a President) will probably think this film is a homage. What a dumbshit.
Cromwell and Scott Glenn are SO miscast. Whoever was playing Rice looks just like her. I’m not sure what to say. I would need to see more.
Is anyone else reminded of Forrest Gump when they see Bush running at the end?
Another miscasting is Ioan Gruffudd. Considering that his Blair is bang on, it should’ve been Michael Sheen.
It’ll be interesting to see how this is received, especially by those in it if they don’t – as you point out Ray – see it as a tribute. I’ve got a feeling that Dubya will come out of the cinema saying “heck! Why’d I pay $10 to see Daddy’s homevideos?”
