Will Ferrell is attached to star in the comedy Fly on the Wall for Universal. He is being touted to play an anti-social guy who gradually regains his self confidence and finds the love of his life with thanks of his best friend… a talking fly.
I’m suprised how long Ferrell’s fame has lasted, I really thought he was just a flash in the pan a few years ago. I don’t really get his humour but I can see the guy is extremely talented. His upcoming Stranger than Fiction looks to be his “Truman Show“, the movie which may showcase his serious acting ability to a mainstream audience.
Just like with Jim Carrey, I think it would be a mistake for Ferrell to return to over the top comedy if his serious movies are successful. Fun With Dick and Jane was such a step backwards for Carrey, he really is struggling to recover from it.
