I’ve been saying that they should have been doing this with Marvel movies for years. After all, that’s what half the fun is with reading comics, to know that all these characters live in one big universe and to see how they interact with each other over the course of different films.
AICN have got the huge scoop that none other Samuel L. Jackson is filming a one day cameo today in Jon Favreau’s Iron Man movie as the Marvel character Nick Fury!
Fury is of course the former WWII soldier who turns into a James Bond like spy in the Marvel universe.
AICN speculate that this cameo is a set-up to a larger continuity where the character will appear in future Marvel movies with Samuel L. Jackson playing the role.
Love it. The pic on the left there is of the Ultimate version of Nick Fury… who has a striking resemblance to Jackson.
Hopefully we will see some snaps sometime today!

The fact that ultimate Nick Fury looks like Sam J is no coincidence, Marvel asked to use his likeness and he agreed. Seems Marvel have had a plan all along.
Dman! I like this version of Nick Fury a HELL of a lot mroe than the David Hasselhoff “version.” You need a character to kick @$$ and take names, then Sam’s the MAN!
God choice on Favreau’s part. He’s really thinking this through.
I never knew that Tino but that’s some great forward thinking right there.
Favreau really has thought this through. I remember reading someone comment on another site that it’s a shame he isn’t shooting Transformers. It certainly would have been interesting to see what he would do with it.
Favreau couldn’t possible screw up Transformers more than Bay has. If all I want are flashy visuals I’ll watch Beyond the Mind’s Eye or something.
