Whiteout poster

Another Comic-Con exclusive poster, this time for the film adaptation of Greg Rucka’s comic series Whiteout. The movie stars Kate Beckinsale and is directed by Swordfish and Gone in Sixty Seconds helmer Dominic Sena.

The poster comes from Shock Till You Drop and is almost identical to the Frank Miller cover that graces the front cover of the graphic novel. There’s been some footage shown at the Con, which hopefully we might get a glimpse of online in the near future.

Written by Erich and Jon Hoeber, Whiteout follows U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko as she uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic just as the sun is about to set for six months. She must catch the killer before he leaves the ice or be stuck there with him in the dark for six months.

I saw the comic book for this once in a comic shop. It looked and felt like a screenplay adapted for a comic. Storyboards with word balloons instead of captions. It was blatantly obvious they were fishing for a movie deal…and it seems they got it.

I didn’t get far into it, put it down, too slow, felt all wrong for a cmoic book. Hoepfully it’ll make a better movie than a comic book.
