Every now and again, actress Laura Dern will come out with a quote claiming that a fourth movie in the Jurassic Park series which would be the first since 2001, is happening “next year”.
My question would be, when does “next year” become “this year”?
Though, when the plot involves dino’s with missiles rampaging through the streets of New York, I hope it is as unreachable as tomorrow. Dern spoke to the TV Guide Magazine...
“It’s a while away but my understanding is it’s happening and my character is very involved. I know [director] Steven Spielberg is looking forward to [getting it together] over the next year.”
It will happen eventually I’m sure. It took them over ten years of the “next year” statement before all the crew decided to come back for a new Indiana Jones adventure, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if this one has begun serious development before the end of this decade.
Surprisingly, Sam Neill - who played the partner of Dern in the original movie has said a few times that he has not heard from Spielberg over the project. Can’t imagine they would ask Dern back and not Neill, but that seems to be how it has worked out so far.

Who cares! 1 & 2 were great but the third one was a right load! it was a case of curse of the third movie for this franchise, I carn’t see 4 happening anytime soon.

I care.
I love that franchise and they should end it with a better film than JPIII.

Word round the campfire is that the script with the missile carrying dinos is out of this world.
