Liev Schreiber, the talented and charismatic actor who burst onto the scene in Wes Craven’s Scream trilogy in the mid 90’s and would put in fabulous high quality work in Hollywood movies The Sum of All Fears, The Manchurian Candidate and in so many indie films has sadly started taking the paycheck role.
It happened recently with the awful remake of The Omen which I can’t believe he went into without knowing that the script was sub-par and his character so absent of any weight or interest. And of course it’s happened again with him UNBELIEVABLY taking on the role of Sabertooth in the X-Men prequel… a part you may remember was played by a wrestler in the first movie, the same guy who lumbered around with the Shatner mask in the new Halloween redo.
Here’s some set pics of Schreiber from the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, who looks bigger physically than he ever has before (notice the claws). I still can’t believe he is doing such a dumb role. AND HE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE SABERTOOTH.
And an image of a smiling Hugh Jackman too…
Lots, lots, lots more images at Just Jared.
I have zero hope for this film.

Does Sabertooth ever have short hair?

Schreiber has talent but your right Sabertooth is likely to be a dumb role for him. The casting for the movie is rather werid, like why cast Gambit in a film about Wolverine?
