What Fox will take from WATCHMEN

Details of the 20th Century Fox/Warner Bros. settlement have emerged, with /film filling us on in the details…

Fox are receiving between $5 and $10 million upfront, which will include the $1.4 million of development and legal fees for the case.
Fox will get a gross total of around 5% and 8.5% of the final worldwide box office gross. Which if the movie makes say $400 million worldwide, is very substantial.
Fox will also be in line to receive financial incentives from future WATCHMEN sequels, spin-off’s etc. If Warner Bros. are so tempted to go to the well again like they did with 300.

- Chris Nolan’s next movie at Warner Bros. is INCEPTION, a sci-fi picture set “within the architecture of the mind” and will star Leonardo DiCaprio with Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page and Cillian Murphy, and is based on his own original script. The movie shoots in June and will be released July 2010. His deal to direct INCEPTION is likely to include a wager to direct a third BATMAN movie which we expected to be released in 2012.
