We’re watching the WATCHMEN trailer in HD!

Is this about as good as you could have imagined a Zack Snyder adapted version of Watchmen to look?

I would say yes and though it’s no where near as cold, as gritty or innovative in it’s own medium as the absolute classic Alan Moore graphic novel, I say this looks pretty damn good and dare I say, better than expected?

And I have to say as cool as that music is, the trailer works so much better on mute.

But the imagery is all there, and Snyder surprisingly gives us a very unteasered trailer. We get to see Dr. Manhatten in full (and he kicks ass, fucking scary when moving), Mars and the Night Owl Ship which looks so much like it lands out of a HG Wells adaptation.

Watch it online now, though I’m sure you will all be seeing this with The Dark Knight tonight. And of course trailers for Terminator IV and House of Lies! What a night, the best movie event of the year?

wow, i have to say that was pretty cool. dont knoow for sure who the music was by, but it worked perfectly for the mood of the trailer. it definitely got me into it.
the visuals were astounding but like ‘300′, it just seemed overly reliant on special effects and maybe thats the only thing zack snyder is good at? giving us nice things to look at…i still dont know what the story is about or who these “superheros are”… so trailer 1 kinda failed in that aspect.
then again…its the teaser trailer so i’ll wait for the next one for more information. thanks for the HD link!!

these visuals look great. good teaser trailer. the music was smashing pumpkins by the way …

so, i trust that snyder will provide great visuals and good music, and i also trust him to at least attempt to throw the hard-to-sell aspects of the comic up on the screen. but, will it be a big mess? i hope not. we’ll see.

This looks brilliant,I think Snyder may be the saviour of comic book films.I love to see him do Batman all styleized and shit.
I read Watchmen back in the 80’s when it first came out and I still own a copy but I never picked it up again only read it the once and it never really did much for me, course I was a lot younger then am
nd maybe didnt really appreciate it then, perhaps I should tray and read it again.
This trailer makes me interested again.I’m looking forward to this more than what i’ve seen of The Spirit.
I personally think Snyder is gonna go on to do some great stuff in the future. Hope this is a hit for him.

For those who are wondering, the song in the trailer (the two minute one) is a spliced version of one of the remixes of the Smashing Pumpkins song “The End Is The Beginning Is The End.”

The music is
Artist: Muse
Song: Take A Bow

  1. [...] Really love what I’m seeing here. Love the captions, love the character shots, love how much they are stuck in an odd time warp. I love that they look like promo cards you might get in a cereal box. Next May really can’t come soon enough – even if I was only 3/4’s impressed with the trailer. [...]
