We Own the Night is a movie playing at Cannes, with the hope of finding a distributor. The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, Robert Duvall and Eva Mendes in what is a serious psychological crime drama.

Called “We Own the Night,” the movie is a gripping drama set in the 1980s at the height of a bloody war between New York police and Russian mobsters who have targeted the officers and their families. The film stars Phoenix and Wahlberg as brothers in conflict.
Looks interesting enough. It’s a shame they haven’t used the French title for the movie. LA NUIT NOUIS APPARTIENT because it sounds so much more alive than We Own the Night.

I thought this looked pretty interesting and I like Phoenix and Wahlberg a fair bit so I’m willing to give it a shot.
The movie looks pretty good. Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Duvall, great actors and last but not least, the beautiful Eva Mendes. Joaquin and Eva seem to have a good chemistry for what I’ve seen in previews. I was reading that they had an standing ovation for “10″ minutes at the Cannes Film Festival. I’m pretty sure it’ll be a great movie, Oscar material that is.
