Awesome…. I can’t believe so many people I know who aren’t comic book geeks, are just so rabidly excited for this one. Warner Bros. have once again struck gold with their marketing, just like they did with THE DARK KNIGHT last year.
Less than a month away now until we will be watching the WATCHMEN!

I dont know anyone who knows about this film except my comic geek mate! infact I’m getting sick of explaining it to people! no one cares anyway, most people I know dont even go to the Cinema anymore.
Well… Watchmen is not that great of a comic. I think that many who that it is “visionary” or some other phony BS — either are going “along with crowd” or just haven’t read many comics (or books… or even seen many movies).
I’m only interested in the movie because of the actors and the effects, and I think that that is the only reason why many non-comic-geeks would want to see this.
I bet that they’ll be happy to see the girl eating dog and the squid….
@ShatteredH: That is absolute bull. It was a novel that talked about certain aspects of a superhero that no other novel/comic did before that. Sometimes you got to accept that people call it visionary because it truly is. Although, i have to say that a lot of people ARE going along with the crowd without knowing what the hell they are talking about.
Nonetheless, Watchmen is a masterpiece.
@Rudd: I disagree. I don’t believe that it is a masterpiece because those characters do not belong to Alan Moore. You sound like you probably know from where he received his characters from.
Example. It’s like me, being given the Justice League characters, and then all I do, is change the names and add SOAP OPERA DRAMATICS. “Super Dude cries his eyes out as his long time crush, Laura turns to prostitution to pay for her increasing credit card debt (identity theft)… meanwhile Ratman has to come to terms with the fact that he has colon cancer…”
I do not believe that that is a masterpiece. This type of writing has infected present day comics (just look at Infinite Crisis and Civil War). It’s soap opera junk.
To each his own. If you love it, I’m sorry if I have offended you. This is only my opinion on it.
