Waking up to a new RED DAWN

Never seen it but the word out of Cannes this weekend is that John Milius’ 1984 cold war movie Red Dawn is being touted as possible remake material over at MGM.

The film was about a group of American rebels fighting Soviet forces and a group of guerilla tactics employed by American students in Colorado. It starred Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen among others. It is famous for being the first film to ever be released with a PG-13 rating and was considered to be one of the most violent films ever made back in the mid 80’s.

This was long before the Hostel’s and the Saw’s of this world.

MGM head honcho’s Harry Sloan and Mary Parent also confirmed that a new reimaging of Robocop could be on the way, something we have figured for a while now.

And they also tell The Hollywood Reporter not to worry about Valkyrie and it’s early negative buzz.
