A couple of months ago, I was fortunate enough to see an unfinished cut of Sam Raimi’s glorious return to the horror genre, Drag Me To Hell. This week saw Sam Raimi and his two lead actors Alison Lohman and Justin Long on whirlwind promotional duties in London.

On a rainy Bank Holiday morning, I went along to a central London locale to have a quick chat with the great director himself and his actors.

You need more confidence conducting these interviews. You seem quite intimidated by it all.

Which cam are you using? I like the quality and I am on the search for a good new one.

@ Andy: that was my first thought too, after watching the interview.
Toughen up ;)

Possiblt the most awkward interviews I have seen.
You need to break the ice a bit more.

You definitely sound somewhat intimidated and I don’t blame you. But I liked your questions and have learned Sam Raimi wants to make Evil Dead 4 with Bruce Campbell. Although they better hurry before Bruce gets older and chunkier.

Raimi was very nice here, he really seemed to be lending you a hand in getting a good informative interview out.

To all the other posters: Being polite comes off as being intimidated?? This was one of the better interviews I’ve seen.

Sorry Tim, I thought the same as everyone else…saying “thank you” after every response and whispering your questions is very odd. Raimi’s responses seemed like he was trying to not make the guy cry or something… I don’t think the guy should lose his job or anything, but definitely agree that he should speak with more confidence and at volume that we can hear. I’d have liked to see Ray do this interview.

What the hell does it matter if the guy doing the interveiw sounds nervous?!?, he asked some good questions and got some good answers from Raimi.(Justin Long acts like a douche bag the whole interveiw to be honest)
Good job Martyn, i think id have come across nervous faced with a film legend.

I agree with Chris, the interview is about the the interviewee not the interviewer, and so what if he sounds nervous! Sam Raimi is sat in front of you! Man i’d S**t my pants. Good job Martyn can’t wait for the next one.
