Universal have hired George Nolfi, the screenwriter of THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM to return to the series and pen a fourth adventure and the first one that won’t be based on an already existing title in the Robert Ludlum created universe.
Nolfi will have to work from an original idea. Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass will both return as lead and director respectively say Variety…
Previously the studio and the talent involved had agreed to stop at the third installment before but after the THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM became a huge near $400 million worldwide hit and was one of the best reviewed movies of 2007… they couldn’t resist going ahead with a fourth movie.
And boy is the summer tentpole better for it!

As much as I love the Bourne series, why do they have to insist of milking it until they eventually fuck it up. The Bourne trilogy is one of the most consistent franchises around and while part of me does want to see a continuation I still think they should just quit while they’re ahead.
I don’t like the idea of another one. They risk not topping the third and I really loved how each film was better than the previous.
I agree. I love the Bourne Trilogy and I’ll be in line to see the fourth, but I wish they would quit before it’s marred by a bad movie.
