Whenever I think of American Gangster, I can’t help but think of The Departed. In truth, the only similarities between the two movies is the late in the year release date, a full to the brim cast, a legendary director and the “Gangster” element.
The plot and the tone of the movies will be very different indeed.
American Gangster stars Russell Crowe, Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding Jr, Josh Brolin, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Carla Gugino.
I love these new posters. They have that feeling of Scarface about them, and those posters are killer.
Looking forward to this. If it’s as good as The Departed, then there won’t be many movies better this year.

I thought these posters looked quite good and I must admit, I’m also interested in seeing how this turns out. At the very least, the cast is an interesting one.
I always wanted to see a Virtuosity 2!!
Seriously though, I hope Denzel and Crowe actually spend some screen time together here.
I’d watch a movie called “Watching Paint Dry” if Denzel was in it. I just hope Russell Crowe doesn’t jinx him. That guy has been box-office poison ever since Proof of life.
And for the record the movie stars Denzel, then Russell.
and I’m with you Anonymous, I LOVE to see a follow-up to Virtuosity. Denzel may nto always make the best choices of movies to star in (Fallen, Out of Time) but more often than not he does.
But regardless he’s ALWAYS dynamite on screen! When this movie opens I’m there! Just because he’s in it.
