Trailer: THE SUPERHERO MOVIE

It had to happen eventually. Superhero movies are so huge right now that a spoof film from those guys responsible for the awful SCARY MOVIE spoofs (actually the first one was pretty clever) was always going to be just around the corner.

Re-titled to THE SUPERHERO MOVIE (it was previously titled SUPERHERO!) surprisingly the film is only spoofing the original SPIDER-MAN movie almost exclusively and not the rest of the genre.

Maybe the plan is to start a franchise but I can’t help but feel that’s a mistake. Surely there’s lots of money to be made in spoofing Batman/Superman/Spider-Man and the X-Men in the same movie?

Trailer for the movie is below. This one is due out in March.

It looks like shit but the comic book geek within me can’t help but me a little curious. Is that the same for you too?

  1. there’s a few things very VERY wrong about this movie.
1.) the casting of drake bell for a LEAD ROLE. BIGGGG NO NO. DRake and Josh is an atrociously awful excuse for a sitcom and the massive hype over Drake Bell is just bullshit.
2.) the idea for this is SHIT! “oh lets take the first spiderman and spoof that. yea, that’s it. no other superhero movies..” Nobody can possibly want to see this seriously! you want to see something parodying spiderman in a light and better way go watch rowan atkinson on the comic relief program where he plays plant man. that’ll be infinitely better than this garbage…
Apart from Leslie Nielson who in his own right is great(but bad choice to take this project)…what exactly can be satisfying in seeing this movie? NOTTHINGG!
and i like spoof movies…but there’s a fine line between good spoof movies and bad ones. This being a bad one to join meet the spartans, epic movie, date and the more recent scary movies. DAvid Zucker, WTF? This kind of humor worked for the naked gun series, airplane and hot shots, but for a superhero movie? NO.
