Variety are confirming last week’s rumblings, that indeed Woody Allen has cast Scarlett Johansson for the third time since 2005, which makes me very happy indeed!
She will re-team with The Prestige hottie Rebecca Hall who also joins the flick, that already has Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem cast.
As we keep saying, all we know about the movie is that it will be shot for six weeks in Barcelona sometime after July 4th, along with a week in Asturias. The currently untitled film is described as being “romantic but not serious“.
As Variety point out, it does seem that Allen has lost his love for shooting movies in America. He was once known as the quintessential New York filmmaker with classics like Annie Hall, Manhatten and Bullets Over Broadway showing off the city in a way no other director could manage.
His last three movies Match Point, Scoop and the upcoming Cassandra’s Dream have all been shot in London and it’s been reported that he will return to the capital to shoot his next movie after this one.
