Michael Bay is none too happy with Paramount’s decision to release their films exclusively on HD DVD format. So much so that he’s threatened to drop out of doing Transformers 2. Bay posted the following statement on his Shoot for the Edit site:
“I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!”
A lot of people seemed to really dig Transformers – and a domestic gross of $300 million plus certainly points towards it being a big success – so the idea that Bay would ditch the project would probably annoy ‘Transfans’. However there’s probably no need for mass hysteria on Cybertron – Bay is likely playing chicken with the studio, dangling the “I’m out of here” line in the hope of landing a bigger paycheck.
To me Bay’s Transformers film was like fast food; it satisfied a craving but I wouldn’t want to taste it again in a hurry. I think Bay has too much of a love for fast cars, Playboy bunnies and most probably cocaine to turn his back on the money Paramount would offer him to direct Transformers 2.

Uh, speak for yourself cowboy! I ama LIFELOND, unabashed Transformers fan, and I HATED what Bay did. All real Transformers fans hated what he did. We were terrified that a live-action TF movie would get “Hollywooded” up, and that’s exactly what he did. I am overjoyed at the idea that that talentless *sshole will go back to snorting his coke and folling around with his porn-whores and leave Trasnformers in the hands of a filmmaker instead. I can assure you, if Bay announces he’s through with Transformers there will be rejoincing the in the streets by TransFans everywhere!
So PLEASE, don’t even try to pretend that anyone (other than the two or three braindead jackasses who drooled over their dirty flip-flops in the theater) liked Transformers, certainly not “Transfans.” I’d rather see the Wayans brothers direct a Transformers movie than Michael Bay. Uwe Boll would be an improvement, or Paul W.S. (Worthless Sh*t) Anderson.
Have I made my feelings on this issue excrutiatingly clear enough yet?
