Billy Bob Thornton has joined the already cast Halle Berry in the crime/drama Tulia, the first time the pair have worked together since Monster’s Ball, which Berry of course won her Oscar for.
Plot info for those that missed it the first time…
The story is based on the nonfiction book “Tulia: Race, Cocaine, and Corruption in a Small Texas Town” by Nate Blakeslee. Karen Croner wrote the screenplay….
…Berry will portray the lead attorney for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, which intervened to free the citizens wrongly convicted based on one crooked cop’s testimony.
No word yet on what role Billy Bob will be playing but Variety hint that he will receive top billing alongside Berry.
Shooting begins at the end of next month around the New Orleans area, with High Crimes director Carl Franklin helming.
