Remember last April when a certain superhero project got me really gushing with excitement that I finally started getting excited for WB/DC films again (outside of Batman that is, they have sucked both in their output and getting movies off the ground).

No it wasn’t JLA I was talking about… It was Super Max of course - the David Goyer/Justin Marks collaboration which would be the origin movie for Green Arrow and would work slightly different to that of the common superhero flick. This one would work where Arrow gets put in a high security Super Max prison charged with a crime he didn’t commit and full of cellmates of B and possibly Z list DC superhero’s - many of which the Arrow had put away himself.

It would be The Shawshank Redemption but for superhero’s.

Now tell me that didn’t sound cool?

Today, those Latino Review guys got their hands on the script and would ya just take a look at which characters turn up for supporting gigs as fellow inmates…

The B-D list DC villains list can be found at their site. It’s their scoop, so I don’t want to steal it.

They have a full script review which is spoilerish but well worth a read. One of the coolest aspects of the script was that the Super Max prison itself changes shape every night and is moved around so that none of the villains can work out a route to escape!

I guess depending on how events go with The Dark Knight - this movie would have to be out of the current DC film continuity, which in my opinion is a big mistake. They really should be using Marvel as their guide for the working practices of a studio who knows how to blend their characters together.

They would obviously need another actor to play The Joker. And then what of The Riddler - has Batman already caught him? Does that kill the potential of having him be the main villain further down the road? And would another actor instead of Kevin Spacey really be wise for Luthor?

All of them could and probably will be culled from the final script but I really do like the idea of Green Arrow being in an environment with the B-list villains, which could stay in continuity. That does sound pretty cool to me.

It’s original and a little different… I can’t believe WB haven’t pulled the trigger on this one yet.
