The Hurt Locker is Kathryn Bigelow’s latest war drama flick set in Baghdad which will star Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty and a small cameo role from Guy Pearce. The movie is about a cat-and-mouse game during the chaos of war, where bombs are constantly going off, people being shot at and potentially everyone is an enemy and target.
It sounds a lot like a modern day version of Black Hawk Down.
The movie is currently filming right now and Film Ick have kindly pointed us towards the first poster for the movie which was found at some guy’s blog. Looks pretty cool and I like the colour scheme of it though it probably wouldn’t be enough to get me into the cinema to see it alone This flick needs a good trailer when all is said and done to stop it feeling like ‘just another war picture’.

“The Hurt Locker is Kathryn Bigelow’s latest war drama flick”
I didn’t know she had any others, unless you consider K-19 to be a war film. Bigelow’s only real success was Point Break, but I would credit James Cameron more than her. She’s never done anything that I saw as a “must-have.” Strange Days was lousy, K-19 was terrible. Think I’ll skip this one.
I really liked Near Dark and Point Break so I’ll be seeing The Hurt Locker. I hope Kathryn Bigelow blows people away (no pun intended) with this film. + Jeremy Renner stars in this movie, I am so there!
