The strangest poster for a movie I think I’ve ever seen in my life has turned up at ION Cinema for the George Dub-Ya Bush biopic.
You can see the suppose to be hilarious poster from Cannes below which features several of the most idiotic remakes Bush has made during his seven years in power…
Far more effective I feel is the cover image of EW in getting over the feel for the film which will more Charlie Wilson’s War mixed with Dr. Strangelove than the usual Stone drama.
In related news, Variety report that Jesse Bradford (Flags of our Fathers) has joined the cast as W’s college roommate, presumably for some kind of flashback sequence of Bush during his younger days.
I know I keep saying it but there is something very malicious behind Oliver Stone’s movie, an anger that has made him direct this film next rather than out of something meaningful he had to tell. This is an attack movie - nothing more, nothing less.
whats wrong with a malicious movie, matt? i really don’t see a problem. especially if it’s a attack on Bush. Hell, it’s just a little movie.

But such an easy target.

He deserves every bit of shame and ridicule that he can get-I can’t wait to see this flick-and for January 20,2009 to finally arrive!

I think it’s just pointless to be making a film this late in the game. It’s not like we’ve seen skits making fun of Bush or anything like that. [/sarcasm]
I have this feeling that Bush’s own comments on the poster will be funnier that any in this film. Just propaganda for the election.

Matt Holmes - the only man whose misuse of grammar out-strips George Bush
Comment by gary | June 6, 2008
hahaha, way to go, gary!
matt does misuse grammar at times.
**Take for instance his penchant for using ‘its’ interchangeably with the possessive case “it’s”.
I’ve always wanted to point that one out,
but the problems are…
one, i’m afraid i’d be banned from visiting this awesome site.
two, i’m afraid i’d be bombarded with hate-mails and other junk.
three, i’m not flawless in English either, so that fact might be used against me.
lastly, i don’t wanna get to any arguing and definitely not any cussing.

Josh Brolin got himself arrested last night. Guess the Shreveport PD wanted to send a message to Stone. “You messin’ with our boy W, and we ain’t havin’ that!”
When the studios decide to skip Shreveport in favor or cities where the cops don’t use their badges to enforce theie political views I hope the people remember this.
Well, it could be worse, they could have done Brolin and Wright the same way they did that Garbarino woman –beat her until she laid in a pool of her own blood.
Great group of cops we got here!
