Terrence Howard to join Iron Man

blackm_45.jpgTerence Howard’s name has long been connected with the upcoming Iron Man movie (at one point he was even rumoured to be Tony Stark himself!) and now according to Variety, he is all set join the project.

The actor, probably most famous for his role in Hustle and Flow will be cast in the role of Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes. Now i’m not as knowledgeable on Iron Man as much as I am for other Marvel characters but I do know he eventually becomes the villain War Machine, and he helped Stark create his robotic suit.

The storyline of his “turn” to the dark side as it were will probably not feature until further down the road as director Jon Favreau has already confirmed that Stark’s villain will be Mandarin for the first movie.

Good casting choice then? I think so. With “name” actors that are also talented, Iron Man is shaping up to be a more serious comic book adaptation than we previously thought. They are certainly not going the way of Fantastic Four, which can only be a good thing.
