I LOVE this time of year. It’s always geek heaven, the time before and during the Comic Con when we can really start to look ahead at what the next 12 months of fanboy cinema has to offer us.
It’s this kind of post, let’s be honest, that is the reason for much of why we visit and write for sites like this.
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly (again!) for the images…
Christian Bale, the always intense mega Hollywood property in what should be the biggest blockbuster of next year, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. Love the feeling of the post-apocalyptic world, that probably fascinates me more than anything else over the new series because we have never actually visited this place before for a full length Terminator film.
Sam Raimi doing B-Movie horror! First look at the awesomely titled DRAG ME TO HELL!!!!!!
A seductive Jaime King from THE SPIRIT, who Frank Miller will be hoping to use as memorably as Robert Rodriguez did in Sin City, where she was Marv’s lover Goldie.
Eva Mendes, also from The Spirit, an actress who looks so much better in a real world environment than the stupid backgrounds we have seen her with in promoting this film.
Scarlett Johansson, as the fetish heavy Silken Floss…
A first look at Dollhouse, the new show from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly creator Joss Whedon. It will star Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy) as Echo, a member of an illegal organisation who ”can be imprinted with any personality and history in order to do any kind of job”.
Max Payne, a cross between The Punisher and Constantine with it’s imagery. What the hell is that thing in the background, I didn’t realise this material had supernatural elements?
The Day the Earth Stood Still. Eugh…
Gerard Butler in Rock “N” Rolla, in a framing image that looks straight out of one of my favourite scenes in the 2005 Indie film noir Brick. Let’s hope Guy Ritchie’s lost his ego and just wants to tell a good story with this one…
Gary Oldman and Cloverfield hottie Odette Yustman in David Goyer’s throwback to 70’s horror, The Unborn. Don’t tell me your not interested in this, it’s Oldman doing a Peter Cushing/Donald Pleasance like role!
Land of the Lost, oh dear. The teaser trailer will be present at the Con apparently.
