Could it be? Within two months, two of my dream projects Inglorious Bastards and The Dark Tower are seemingly in the works to be made into feature films in the next few years.
Quentin Tarantino has confirmed he is going to finish the script on Inglorious Bastards whilst promoting his next movie Grindhouse. This is what he said exactly, taken from Slash Film through Filmstalker…
“I am going to kind of go on the road with this, around the earth here. I haven’t really done it in a big way in a long time where you spend six months doing it. But I also like writing on the road, it’s a really good time to do that so I will probably finish up ‘Inglorious Bastards’ while I am promoting ‘Grindhouse’.”
For those who don’t know, Bastards will be Tarantino’s version of The Dirty Dozen, The Great Escape and other cool war movies of the 1960’s. It is said that the movie will have an insanely large ensemble of cool actors much like The Great Escape and The Longest Day.
Some of those branded about (and remember it’s a big cast so Tarantino will want the majority, and not just 1 or 2 of these guys)….
Slyvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarznegger, Jean Claude Van Damme, Harvey Keitel, Adam Sandler, John Travolta, Mickey Rourke, Christopher Walken, Tim Roth and Bo Svenson.
Tarantino regular Michael Madsen has been cast in this thing from day one.
Can you imagine if the first three names on that list were cast? It would be the ultimate trio from the action movies we all grew up with in the 80’s and 90’s. If Tarantino wanted, I bet he could pull some strings and get those guys to do it…. can you believe none of those three have EVER worked together?
Adam Sandler is a strange choice, but his name keeps getting mentioned whenever the flick is talked about.
Fingers crossed this keeps happening then…. Tarantino is a big bull shitter sometimes!
