SUPERMAN ON TRIAL - worth a listen

Wanna know why all things Justice League and Superman: The Man of Steel has been really quiet as of late?

Well you should really listen to the latest podcast from those cool guys at Comic Geek Speak. They have devoted a whole full length episode to the discussion on the whole Siegel/Shuster case on the rights to the Superman brand name which if I listened correctly could led to 50% of any profit made from those films going straight to the creators estate.

If that is indeed true, then I think you could probably say goodbye to Superman on our big screens for a while yet to come.

They also delve briefly into the whole idea of “public domain” and how some comic book characters may in fact become copyright free in the near future. This is something that allowed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to happen (you know with characters like The Invisible Man, Jekyll & Hyde etc.) so in the future could anyone make a Supes film?

And with cross-overs to other characters?

WELL WORTH A LISTEN AND TO PONDER OVER THE FUTURE OF THE MAN OF STEEL.

  1. Great so WB’s greed will stop them from making money. The stupidity of corporate avarice has finally reached it’s ridiculous extreme. They’ll throw away hundreds of millions because they might have to share it?
I say the courts should awards 100% of the rights to the Seigel estate then.
