Stranger than Fiction follows IRS auditor Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) who one day finds his whole life starts to be narrated in his head. He discovers the voice is of a famous author (Emma Thompson) who is desperate to kill off her character also named Harold Crick, after suffering writer’s block!

Since this Will Ferrell star vehicle was annouced, critics were expecting Stanger than Fiction to be his Truman Show. This was to be Ferrell’s breakout as an actor, to show movie audiences that he isn’t just a comedy actror, his chance to show that he has talent and range for dramatic performances.

Mainly positive reviews then from the critics, with the film currently scoring 76% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 67 reviews. Most critics are praising the work of the aganist type Ferrell and some are even calling it Oscar worthy material (mostly in Screenplay category).

The movie is out now in the U.S. and comes out on December 1st in the U.K.
