Steve Carell and Tina Fey will play a married couple in Date Night, the next movie from Shawn Levy once he has finished working on his Night at the Museum sequel.
Written by Shrek the Third scribe Josh Klausner, the movie follows a couple who find their routine date night becomes something much more than either initially expected.
“I wanted to do a relatable, grounded character comedy about marriage and the lengths we go to preserve the spark,” Levy told Daily Variety. “Tina and Steve are smart and relatable, and the tone of their comedy perfectly fits this film.”
To tie in with both Carell and Fey’s t.v. commitments, the film will shoot next year during the duel hiatus on The Office and 30 Rock.
Really enjoying Steve Carell’s work right now, is their a more likeable on screen personality today?
Shame that Levy with Big Fiat Liar, Just Married, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther and Night at the Museum – has yet to make a watchable movie.
