Star Trek Franchise Not Dead?

Star Trek.jpgI know i’m very much in the minority but I actually really enjoyed the last Star Trek movie. However because of the lack of box office success that film made, it looked like the franchise was dead and buried. But as you can see from this poster released at Comic-Con, there will be a Star Trek film released in 2008, directed by Lost creator J.J. Abrams no less.

According to things we have heard, the movie will be a franchise re-start involving many characters from the original tv series, (i.e. Kirk and Spock) but with obviously new actors playing their roles. I think a re-boot is a great idea, but lets hope it doesnt turn out like the Enterprise tv series.

Hugo Weaving for Spock anyone?

Star trek for me is the most plausible sci-fi of all besides the x-files. I do hope trying to re-invent it won’t cost it to sink down even more.
