Cinema Blend have been busy reading several stories on the production of the upcoming Spider-Man 3 and claim they have found sources that indicate the budget for the movie could have exceeded $500 million!
$500 million!!!
That’s insane. Only a few movies a year are able to recoup such big expenses, however we all know Spidey 3 will exceed that number for it’s worldwide box office gross. No-one is doubting the movie is going to make that number (Spidey 2 made $758 worldwide) and it should easily make a profit of $300 million… but the movie should have been made for far less earning Sony an even bigger profit margin.
Personally I find it very hard to believe the movie was made for $500 million and the true figure is probably going to end up being around $300.
$300 million is still an awesome size budget but with this franchise it really is just like printing your own cash. Spider-Man 3 opens next week!!!
