No this is not a future sequel to Universals upcoming remake of THE WOLF MAN, this is an entirely different projected cooked up by the Weinsteins.
They have just optioned the screen rights to “Wolf Boy: A Novel”, a Evan Kulhman book published in 2006 that follows a young kid (whose surname is Wolf) and his grief at having lost his brother in a car accident. In his brothers honour, he creates a comic book superhero called Wolf Boy.
The book is said to be a really moving tale about grief and the loss of a loved one which bonds a father and son together, with the film to switch between live action (the real life stuff) and animation (the stuff in the kid’s graphic novel).
Christopher Parker, the writer of the hideous Eddie Murphy/Wes Craven movie VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN is adapting the book for the screen, with no director attached as of yet.
