So Megan Gale is Wonder Woman then

AICN are reporting that Megan Gale is Wonder Woman. She is a name we have heard crop up many times in the past over this project and for those of you with short memories, she is that 32 year old Australian supermodel who has barely any acting experience what-so-ever.

Even less than Mr. Armie Hammer.

There’s little doubt she looks the part but man, if I was someone like Mary Elizabeth Winstead or Shannyn Sossamon with some real roles on my resume and I see someone like Gale go and nab my part, then I would be just a little pissed off.

Or maybe glad that I simply missed a bullet.

It’s still rumor for now but it is looking more and more likely that Armie Hammer, Adam Brody, Common, Teresa Palmer and Megan Gale are in this film. Scott Porter is probably Superman also, so that leaves us with a Martian Manhunter, Aquaman and more villains to be cast.

I was gunning for Mary Elizabeth Winstead but obviously that’s not to be.

I don’t think acting talent is required for these type of roles. We live in a world were a lot of people are crying out for Tom Welling to be cast as Superman. The guy was, is and always will be a total plank on screen – yet people want him as Superman.

The same can probably be said about Routh, he was a fired soap actor and glorified extra when he was cast as Superman. The guy is no De Niro. Though he wasn’t helped by a bad script – if Singer had given Routh some dialogue he might have been able to do some acting.

Welling on the other hand has been given plenty of opportunity only to prove time and time again he’s a bad actor.

A lot of geeks are perfectly happy to settle for mediocrity. I’m not. At least there’s Downey Jr, Norton and another Craig 007 movie to look forward to.

Welling is a very good actor. Any time I read the tv guide synopsis of an episode and think, “There is no way this crap will make any sense.”, yet tune in, and he sells it. Of course, the plot still makes no sense, but that doesn’t detract from his monumental achievement of holding it all together.

That’s probably what is fueling the outcry to put him this movie. They think, “Well, if he can carry the worst written and plotted show on tv, week after week, then we won’t have to worry about this movie, no matter how dire all other signs are.” It’s a safety net and security blanket all in one.

Well, at least she’s not some 19 year-old…not that that means a damn, does it?
I haven’t wanted to throw things at a wall over how badly a film was this screwed up since Transformers.

Calm down people! let’s not forget Linda Carter was just known as a model when she got the part back in the 70’s and she just about pulled it off, This chick is gorgeous and lets face it if she’s willing to get her ass into that Wonder Woman gear and look great that’s cool by me.

Sorry, this is on my “Don’t care” list. I just can’t get excited about this movie at all. I was more excited when I thought it was going to be CGI. That’s the way it should have been done. I’m about as excited about this as the new Star Trek or Indiana Jones. Or heck, give me the new Knight Rider TV series. I could probably stomach that. At least they have a talking car.

Give me Dark Knight, or the new 007. Those films look interesting and will more than likely be well done.

Megan Gale will be great – it’s easier for someone who is not well known to pull off the persona. She’s the right age and looks perfect as a Amazonian. She’s actually got smarts and a great personality (check out her radio interviews). Can’t wait.
