Shia LaBeouf to ask Y: The Last Man for D.J. Caruso?

last-man.jpgD.J. Caruso, the man who turned down the Wolverine gig to work again with his Disturbia star Shia LaBeouf on the original thriller Eagle Eye, may helm a comic book movie in the future after all. But this has nothing to do with X-Men or even Superhero’s for that matter.

Variety report that Caruso has been tapped up to direct a feature adaptation of the awesome comic book series Y: The Last Man, which again has a Disturbia re-union as that movie’s scribe Carl Ellsworth is also on board to pen the script.

I would expect Shia LaBeouf to be the lead in this thing too. I remember the actor expressing some interest in the project some months back and with Caruso now on board, It’s almost guaranteed he will be the star of the movie.

Y: The Last Man is about a sole surviving male human after the sudden death of every single male mammal on Earth and is kind of a twist on every male’s fantasy of being the only man in the universe. In reality, it’s not all rosy and as easy as getting all the gals, etc. The series is great at showing the complete collapse of society and how depressed women are because the reality is, they can’t live without us men for five minutes!

It’s a truly great series written by Brian K. Vaughan, and the art work is stunning. It’s easily one of the best comic book series currently in publication but the end is near for Y: The Last Man, with the last issue planned sometime in 2008.

Does this mean the screenwriter will find out how the series ends before the last issue goes to print? Will the movie have the same ending or will it be crafted completely different?

Hmmm, shia LeBoof as the last man on the planet? Well, if he’s the last man, then there are no men left on the planet. Personally I think LeBoof is gay, and this is a shameless attempt by the idiots who are propping this talentless nobody’s career up to make him look macho.

How can a gay f*cker like LeBoof be seen as right for a film like this? I wouldn’t be able to choose who’s more femenine: the women or him.

Matt…you are one sad bastard really arent you!!!…maybe having someobdy you see as feminie…is times better than having an inbred fucker who like you, will no doubt use the last remaining days of his pathetic life digging up and shagging the brains out of his dead families corpses….happy days!!

Hahaha! Dude, have you even read the series? Try reading the last episode. I wonder if there would even be a world left if all the women had died instead of the men.

Wow if that kid ends up playing Yorick in the movie i wont even see it. There’s a reason no REAL director would work with this kid, HE’S GARBAGE!
