So we know that the Bond producers have this big mastermind plan of introducing a big baddie who is really pulling all the strings in the new Bond series, the question now is, just when are they going to introduce him and who will he be played by?

We all know it should be an A-List stature actor, someone with real weight and presence. Someone who you could believe was behind all this and to make you think just for a second that Bond could be really fucked.

AICN are carrying one hell of a rumor today. In fact it’s so out there that it’s kinda hard to take seriously.

I met with a friend of mine recently, who is currently working on dismantling the sets of the new Bond movie at Pinewood, and will start soon on building the new sets when the crew return later in the year.

Anyway he mentioned that Anatole Taubman and Daniel Craig have filmed a huge fight scene in an art gallery under renovation at the stage.

But the big news that he leaked was that Al Pacino would be taking part in filming. I was a little shocked as the cast has been revealed already, but he said Pacino would play the head of the terrorist group introduced in CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE. Al is said to come to Pinewood in April-May to film what is said to be a brief cameo.

I love him as much as the next guy but I just can’t see him fitting in here, not after playing such a similar role last year in OCEAN’S THIRTEEN. We’ve seen him do this kind of thing so many times before, it would be more predictable than surprising.

I would love to see Denzel do it. Or how about Tom Hanks… yeah seriously… Tom Hanks. He was awesome in ROAD TO PERDITION playing dark and against type and I bet he would just relish the opportunity to do something like this. And ya’ll know it was Daniel Craig would killed his wife and son in that movie, he wants more revenge!

Remember Henry Fonda doing it in ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST. What about Tom Cruise in COLLATERAL.

I’m just saying, think outside the box on this one. The “Holy Shit” moment would be perfect if they got a really famous actor playing against type. Though I do kinda like the idea of Anthony Hopkins as Blofeld… but again that’s just lazy.
