SAW V poster!

The last SAW movie, which I will admit I wasn’t paying as much attention to as I probably should have been (I’m so sick of this damn franchise) confused me completely, so I’m a little lost with where this franchise is headed and just who has done what and to whom.

All I know is that I’m sick of having to talk about Saw year in, year out and I would be quite happy to see this series die to move over and allow a new horror tentpole to take it’s slot.

In the fifth installment of the Saw franchise, Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends. Tobin Bell, Julie Benz, Costas Mandylor, Scott Patterson and Mark Rolston star.

So are we seeing a full movie with the new killer wearing a Tobin Bell mask until the big “shock” reveal at the end?

Do we even care?

Saw V opens October 28th.

    Erm, well don’t then.

You tend to cover some movies more than others anyway depending on your taste (e.g. The Dark Knight’s been given a lot more coverage than The Mummy 3. Why? Presumably because that interests you more). News covering the poster, trailer and final release would be more than adequate, rather than complaining about the movies every damn time you post about them. So, you don’t like the series, great. Nobody’s forcing you to watch them, even though you’ve apparently watched them all anyway.

I’m personally entertained by the series, even if it’s very uneven. I’m wondering if the series will break Friday The 13th’s record of 8 films in 10 years. Something tells me that if you were doing this in the 80s, you’d probably be complaining about that series too, though Saw is definitely a superior series overall, so far at least.

No offence, but if you can’t cover these movies without constantly bitching about them, maybe you can stop wasting your time by doing so…
