I think it was always going to be a long shot that Russell Crowe was going to end up being in the new Star Trek movie. I mean here’s a guy who chooses each and every one of his projects very carefully indeed and he has never in the past done a film anything like this.
Not only that but logistically it would seem unlikely. Crowe has a full schedule, not least the amount of movies he will be re-teaming with Ridley Scott on, so folks I’m sorry to say he won’t be in Star Trek. We do know it will be a huge name, someone the caliber of Crowe is what they are aiming for.

Thank fuck! Russell Crowe is not involved in this new Star Trek film,I could just see him pulling on his Gladiator toggs to be the villain of the piece.
He’s not for this type of movie.(Leave him alone, he just cause trouble anyway!)
