There’s a really juicy rumor that Cinema Blend have heard from one of their ‘least sometimes-reliable’ scoopers which I really hope is true.
They have heard that the great Viggo Mortensen may lead Slyvester Stallone’s long gestured biopic of the dark and macabre writer Edgar Allan Poe, after Sly made put an offer out to the actor. Viggo is said to be interested but wants slight revisions made to the script.
Love this news.
Stallone’s script for POE someone once told me was the best thing had ever written and that’s no small compliment when you consider he wrote ROCKY. I really hope Sly is interested in making this as his next film and not a remake of DEATH WISH.
I don’t really need to see another DEATH SENTENCE/THE BRAVE ONE anytime soon. I’m far more interested in dark character driven Poe movie.
While I’m here talking about Stallone, his next movie RAMBO has got itself another new poster. I found this over at Worst Previews…

Cool. I know it’s just a rumor but the idea sounds good to me. I think he could make the role really interesting. I just hope Johnny Depp doesn’t get the role since A) it would be a rather typecasted role, similar to all his other tim burton roles and B) it’d be just another johnny depp dark character under lots of makeup with a harsh view upon the world(with a moustache of course, AND OMG WITHOUT TIM BURTON)
I’m okay with Viggo though(even as a rumor) This could be great.
I hope realy he will get this role. I´m sure this will be a great movie.
