Rose McGowan currently dons my desktop background, a nice image to see everyday as I log on and check out the latest movie news! She ain’t just a pretty face though, McGowan can act her socks off when she is given the opportunity.
Variety are reporting that the actress soon to be seen in both parts of Grindhouse, has signed on to star as B-Movie actress Susan Cabot in the movie Black Oasis.
Australian director Stephan Elliott will write and helm the flick, which is based (SPOILERS AHEAD, I guess) on the story of Cabot’s rise as a B-Movie actress before being killed by her son Timothy with a weightlifting bar at the age of 59. That’s fucked up!
Her son was apparently suffering from psychological problems and was only charged with manslaughter and received a three year suspended sentence.
Well it certainly doesn’t look like the sort of flick you can have a laugh with. McGowan is perfect for this because for many she is just an actress who you slightly recognize but don’t know where from, which is probably the sort of reaction Cabot use to get.
