Seeing that trailer on the big screen in front of Deja Vu this week, Stallone won me over with Rocky Balboa. I wrote the movie off pretty much as soon as it was announced but boy does it look I was wrong.
And you know I’m happy to say that too. I wanted Stallone to suceed, I just didn’t think he could pull it off…
“The Italian Stallion gallantly fights one last time in Rocky Balboa, an endearing final chapter that has morein common with the 1976 original than any of the sequels”. - Bill Muller – Arizona Republic
“It’s actually the best Rocky movie since the original — a fitting and triumphant final chapter for one of the most iconic characters in the history of motion pictures”. – Richard Roeper – Chicago Sun Times
“Touchingly nostalgic, the sixth chapter in the saga of Sylvester Stallone’s eternal underdog packs a far more powerful punch than anyone would have expected”. – Elizabeth Weitzman – New York Daily News
“Rocky Balboa” is so awesome that everyone else who makes movies may as well just give up now. It’s not going to get any better than this”. – Phil Villareal – Arizona Daily Star
Rocky Balboa is currently weighing it at 77% Fresh rating from 115 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
Sky Cinema here in the UK are showing all 5 previous Rocky movies on Boxing Day, as i’ve only seen 2 of them… does someone want to take my girlfriend shopping for the day?
The movie is out now in the U.S. and on the 19th January in the U.K.

I will not see this, but I think nostalgia is affecting people more than they’d care to admit.
