Ridley Scott’s ROBIN HOOD trailer…
I feel like I’ve seen the story of Robin Hood played out so many times previous in both film and t.v. adaptations over the years that I’m truly drained with the legend now. Each version has the same standard scenes, the same setups, the same characters, the same stock performances.

It doesn’t matter how many times the trailer for Ridley Scott’s grim, slightly more upbeat, bloody but nevertheless rather conventional looking movie proudly claims that this one is dealing with the “man behind the legend”, I’m afraid, you simply can’t pull the wool over my eyes. I’ve seen this story before, multiple times. I’m done with it now.

Aren’t you done with it Sir. Ridley… haven’t you made this movie before?

I’m struggling to see what’s new that so badly needed to be told in this version.
Do you guys not remember when this movie went by the title of Nottingham, and it was supposed to be centered around the point of view of The Sheriff of Nottingham who was intriguingly positioned as the good guy of the piece? That was the movie to make.
Not this Robin of Loxley “crusader turned outlaw, robbed from the rich and gave to the poor” again. Costner’s version was adequate and as bout a good modern day live action version as I could imagine and Errol Flynn’s will never be beaten. So why bother?

Ahh Mr Holmes, what a total muppet you are. “Costner’s version was adequate….” says it all about your opinion. The trailer is not “upbeat” at all. There has NEVER been a convincing portrayal of the MYTH that is Robin Hood, and Ridley ‘s version is more plausible than any other. Errol Flynn’s version though thoroughly entertaining is laughable as it was pure hollywood myth. NO director is more believable in creating a world as Ridley and as this version follows where Kingdom of Heaven (the director cut is a masterpiece) left off in timescale.
So many journo’s on the web now are third rate wannabees and are so lazy they do not deserve the space. Do your homework otherwise keep your gobs shut.
This film will be great.
