More info from The Hollywood Reporter

The story centers on a dentist who dies briefly during routine dental surgery and gains the ability to see dead people who ask him for help in contacting the living.

David Koepp will be directing. He previously helmed the atmospheric but flawed Secret Window and Stir of Echoes but is obviously more well known for the many scripts he has written… especially for Steven Spielberg. These include Jurassic ParkWar of the Worlds and the upcoming Indiana Jones IV.

I seriously doubt Gervais can sustain his character for a whole feature film, so unlike his small cameo in Night at the Museum, he is going to have to re-invent himself somewhat for this.

There’s no doubt he’s a funny guy but unlike Simon Pegg, I’m not sure how much depth he really has as an actor. He just seems to be playing a further extension of himself all of the time, but I guess we will see.
