RESURRECTION happening at Universal

The Oni Press post-apocalyptic graphic novel Resurrection has been optioned for a movie by Universal and it will be executive produced by it’s creator Marc Guggenheim.

In the tradition of such timeless science fiction films like THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and WAR OF THE WORLDS, RESURRECTION is the story of an alien race come to conquer. But while those classic tales focus on the invasion, RESURRECTION starts when those stories end. After years of conflict the aliens are gone and the planet is safe… or is it? Who ended the war? How did they do it? Where do we go from here? Written by Marc Guggenheim (WOLVERINE) and drawn by David Dumeer, RESURRECTION uncovers both the secrets of humanity’s survival and its impending future.

The series is now up to issue 3 and the comic’s official website actually have an 11 page preview which I have posted for you guys below. Basically this will probably turn out to be the opening shots of the movie.

Thankfully unlike the post-apocalyptic movie Doomsday, this one seems to revolve around characters we can actually relate too…
