The Frenchman fooled us all! In one of those movie-esque moments where everyone turns around after hysterically panicking and goes “ah, it was just some bad gas!” (remember The Last King of Scotland?), reports of Jean Reno’s heart attack yesterday were fortunately overstated.
Despite being airlifted to hospital whilst holidaying on the Caribbean island of St. Barts, it turns out that the Léon actor was simply suffering from heartburn and gastroenteritis and not a severe heart attack as first suspected. Reno has now been released from Fort-de-France hospital in Martinique where he was airlifted to yesterday and advised to rest.
Despite giving us all a scare, it’s good to hear that the 60-year-old star of Ronin and The Da Vinci Code is alright and I can imagine him lying back on the beach with a smug smile knowing that he had us all going for a minute. Here’s to Reno’s recovery and we hope to see him again soon, preferably in a press conference explaining why on Earth he’d want to be involved in The Pink Panther 2.
