Despite being the most over-rated Academy Award wining actress since Halle Berry (actually that wasn’t that long ago was it? The Academy does give that award away to some crap these days) and her last movie flopping (RENDITION), The Hollywood Reporter have placed the 31 year old actress at the top of the highest earning female actors for 2007.

Apparently her asking price is $15-20 million per film and her big money earnings for recent films like JUST LIKE HEAVEN, the two LEGALLY BLONDE movies, SWEET HOME ALABAMA and WALK THE LINE would indicate she is good for the cash, with all but the latter film being sold on her name alone.

Angelina Jolie came in at second with similar asking prices but her recent price drop for a role in BEOWULF moved her percentage down.

The rest of the list works out like this…

Cameron Diaz ($15 million), Nicole Kidman ($10-15 million), Renee Zellweger ($10-15 million), Sandra Bullock ($10-15 million), Julia Roberts ($10-15 million), Drew Barrymore ($10-12 million), Jodie Foster ($10-12 million) and Halle Berry ($10 million).

I’m not trying to be offensive or sexist or whatever with my next statement, but female actors just don’t get me into the theatres as much as Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and more of their male counterparts, do.

I would find it far harder to name my top ten female actors than I would male one’s and I’m not actually convinced that any female actress is a draw for me, in terms of getting my ass into that cinema seat.
