Rainn Wilson (Juno, The Office) has joined Transformers 2.

He will play a college professor he revealed to MTV during a sneak preview screening of his upcoming music comedy The Rocker.

Wilson claims he hasn’t read the script and that it will probably be nothing more than a cameo…

Shia LaBeouf will return as Sam Whitwicky as a now college student, with the role of his roomate still un-cast after Superbad actor Jonah Hill turned them down. Aussie actress Isabella Lucas joined the cast a few weeks back, possibly as the new eye candy of the film replacing Megan Fox.

Michael Bay returns to the helm working on a script once again by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and now Ehren Kruger (The Ring) who has boarded the writing team for this sequel due out in June 2009.
