Im curious as to how well Quantum will hold up next weekend. My guess is that this film and Craigs ultra serious approach to the role will really divide audiences this time around. My response was ho-hun to this film. The action scenes were badly shot and totally aped the the last two Jason Bourne films. They took me out of the film. I think Craig is a really good actor and physically he’s the most impressive Bond but I have a problem with the ultra realistic take on the character who speaks very little and has no sense of humor. My gut feeling is the masses will feel this way also after this installment. Many people who left the theater I saw the film at were disappointed and kept mentioning previous actors who played Bond as there favorite. I really believe you can only go joyless for so long before you erode your audience. As a guy who’s parents took him to see Live and Let Die when I was a very little kid this isn’t 007 to me. It’s Jason Bourne being called James Bond. I enjoy a little humor and escapism with the franchise and think the current approach is just too serious. That’s my opinion.

I wonder what this film will do for the franchise. Will people be as excited for the next one as they were for this after Casino Royale?
